Hi all,
sorry about the delay in the update but I’m having some pc problems lately; so I’m using another pc to give you a quick update on my situation with AffiliateJunktion.

Today I broke the $1000 barrier after just over 30 days (that’s accumulated, not in 1 day). The 20th was pay-day and I was really looking forward to it and I did receive … nothing. OK, no panick it is a sunday after all, so maybe tomorrow. In the mean time I have been re-reading the terms & conditions and it clearly states that you get paid on the 20th of the month, if your balance is more than $150 AND if you are already longer than 45 days in the program … I should have read it better.

So, everything is still going well and in the mean time I also discovered another wonderful program that allows you to make some decent money in a multi-billion dollar market. It is not free, it costs £5 per YEAR to join as an affiliate and if you are lucky you’ll get 10 million (euro/pound/dollar) in your account by next week, and if your not lucky it will take a bit longer. More details will follow once I have my own pc back, but you can check it all out for yourself here.

If you are starting with on-line business, or even if you are in it for quite some time, you will come across some terminology like MLM, 1-tier, n-tier, pyramid systems, … In this post I will explain the differences and pros and cons of each system.

1-tier

Definition

A 1-tier system is a system where you are an affiliate or member and you only earn commisions on your direct referrals.

Pro

• Simple and Clear

Contra

• You only earn money on your own clients

Examples

• Affiliate Junktion

MLM, Multi Level Marketing

Synonyms

Affiliate marketing, network marketing, n-tier, multi-tier

Definition

A system whereby affiliates (associates,members) earn money on sales to their own clients, but also on sales made by other affiliates that they have recruted in their network.
Depending on the number of layers where you get paid you sometimes hear the term 2-tier (you are paid on your own clients, and the clients of your direct referrals), 3-tier (own clients, direct referrals clients and their clients), … this typically goes down 5, 7, 10 or and infinite number of levels. In most cases the % commission you get on lower levels will drop sharply (otherwise the system is impossible to maintain)

Pro

• You get paid for efforts of other people. (Of course, the more effort you put in yourself to find other people to join the more you get paid)
• A famous saying in MLM : “I’d rather have 1% of 100 persons’ efforts than 100% of my own effort“

Contra

• Many people confuse it with illegal pyramid systems which makes it sometimes difficult to convince other people to join.

Illegal Pyramid Schemes

Definition

Any system where the main focus (and source of income) is on recruiting new members (victims), or where newcomers have to buy a huge stock of products, is considered as an illegal pyramid system.
So if you stumble upon a system that apparently has no products to sell but pays you for new ‘members’ who usually have to pay an entrance fee (how else could they pay you if they don’t sell anything ?) should be approached with great care.

Pro

• If you are in it as one of the first members you have a chance of not losing money

Contra

• It’s illegal
• and if the first reason is not enough to stay away from it … most of the time you are not it in from the start and thus you will loose your money

Examples

• Many chainletters
• Although strictly speaking the Guardian System I’m talking about in another post is legal, it is very near the edge of a chainletter.

Personal opinion

As you might have guessed my personal favorite is clearly the MLM system. If I can sell the products myself … fine, but if other people sell the products and I can get a fraction of their profits I’m even more happy. I have even been in real-life MLM a couple of years ago and today I’m still being paid commissions on my (and other persons’ clients). (For the moment I’m no longer an active seller because I live in South-Africa now where this company is not active).

My attraction to MLM systems might also come from my background as a mathematician which means that I do know the power of multiplication very well. For those of you who hate(d) math I’ll just give a small example.

Suppose you find a system that only pays you $1 for each sale made in your network. If you only find 2 direct referrals and they do the same and so on this would give you :

Level 1 : 2 persons selling 1 product a day => 2$
Level 2 : 4 ” ” 1 ” ” => 4$
Level 3 : 8 ” ” 1 ” ” => 8$
Level 4 : 16 ” ” 1 ” ” => 16$
Level 5 : 32 ” ” 1 ” ” => 32$

For 3 persons the numbers would be : 3$, 9$, 27$, 81$, 243$
For 5 persons the numbers would be : 5$, 25$, 125$, 625$, 3125$As you can see this is a very powerfull system. (You can click on this Calculator to fill in your own numbers and see what it gives. The calculator is on the right hand side at the top)

yesterday I told you about the GDI income opportunity. I told you that their paying plan is based on a 4 level mlm plan, but actually it is 5 levels (which is good news ofcourse). So the correct pay-out plan would be :

Level 1 : 5 x $1 = $5
Level 2 : 5 x 5 x $1 = $25
Level 3 : 5 x 5 x 5 x $1 = $125
Level 4 : 5 x 5 x 5 x 5 x $1 = $625
Level 5 : 5 x 5 x 5 x 5 x 5 x $1 = $3125

GDI or Global Domains International looks like your average domain registration service but at the same time it is one of the best home business opportunities available on the internet. You get your personal domain name, email, website (with easy site building) and an INCREDIBLE business opportunity to build an income of thousands of dollars each month.

You can use it only as your domain-registration service or you can use it as an extra income opportunity … or both (you get the income opportunity with all necessary marketing anyhow, so why not use it ?)

They have a very simple but powerful payout plan. You get paid $1 per month for everybody in your downline up to 4 levels deep.
This simply plan means the following if everybody only finds 5 new subscribers :

Even if you are not really interested (yes, I’ve heared that there do exist people that don’t want to earn extra money even if it doesn’t cost them any effort) you should at least check-out the very nice and funny flash-introduction video.

Hi all,

it has been a few days since I updated but you can read more about what I have been doing here.

The last few days have been very good again for my sign-ups. I’m now totalling 820$ in just under 30 days. Once again, it is not the $150/day they promised but I’m not complaining. And within a few days it is the 20th and I should get paid for the first time.

it has been a few days since I posted on my blog. As some of you know I started of with AffiliateJunktion as my first affiliate program and now I’m expanding this site with other affiliate program experiences and some ways to promote whatever program you are in.

In my previous post here I recommended FreeAdsDepot and TargetAdsDepot to create free Google-like ads that get displayed on members sites. And apparently this is working because I got a few new AJ-signups from them.

Now about ListBuilders …

When you have a list of people that explicitely choose to receive ads-mails or money-making opportunities, life gets a lot easier to promote whatever you want to promote. The problem is that building such lists cost you money or time. The past few days I have been looking at some of the possibilities (that were send to me due to my subscription to FreeAdsDepot and TargetAdsDepot :-)) and all of the services provide you with more or less the same functionalities :

As a free member (like me, since I’m only testing right now) you can :

• Send mails to your complete own downline (usually once a day)
• Receive only mails from your upline (which limits the amount of mails)
• Some services offer the chance to mail to a number of random users from their members list (usually it will cost you 1 credit per person) once a week, month, …
• Some of them offer a kind of “lottery” system where you could win a mailing to 1000’s of members (I personnaly like this idea, but I’m a real lottery player since years)
• If anyone of your downline upgrades to the paying service you get a commision
• …

As a paying member you usually have the following possibilities :

• Mail 100, 1000, 10000, … members every day even if you don’t have your own downline
• Automatically receive x downline members per day/week/month for ‘free’
• Publish multiple ads at one time
• Earn more credits for reading mails
• Earn bigger commisions if someone from your downline signs up for the paying service
• Get more “lottery tickets” for the free mailing
• …

I just subscribed to about 10 different services and have noted that a number of them are clearly managed by the same people since the subscription forms are exactly the same, but who cares.

In fact I started by subscribing to ListJoe because from within ListJoe you can subscribe to all the others. The big advantage is that within ListJoe they are also publishing banners for all the other services and if you subscribe to them and then configure your ListJoe-account properly, all the banners to the other services will automatically contain your affiliate link. (By the way, this way of working is also applicable to FAD, TAD and some other listbuilding services, so do check the configuration options)

It is clear that you don’t have to believe me and start by subscribing to ListJoe, you could as well subscribe to only a few of the other ones that are promoted by them.

As explained in the previous post Free Ad Depot (FAD) gives you the possibility to publish “google-ad-like” ads but completely for free (if you like you can pay for a more comfortable option that gives you even more exposure, but personally I’m sticking with the free option for the moment).

Target Ad Depot (TAD) on the other hand gives the opportunity to make ads that are very targetted (what’s in a name ?), but more importantly … this is the place where you earn credits by reading other people’s Ads (the window has to stay open for 20 seconds to earn 20 credits) and once you have earned enough credits you can transfer them to your Free Ad Depot (FAD) account to create additional ads or even banner and exit ads for which you would have to pay $15 or $20 if you don’t want to use credits.

Apparently lots of people have chosen to earn some extra money in their newyear resolutions. The site of AJ was down the last  days due to a change of ISP and I just restarted my Ad-campaign about 3 hours ago and I have already 15 new subscriptions (=52,5$).

Seems like more and more people realize that AJ is real and indeed not too difficult to start earning money … what a great way to start the year.
